Juan Alcántara
Software engineer based in León, Spain. I currently work at Ikergune (INZU Group), together with 6 experienced developers and 2 mathematicians.
I studied Software Engineering at Edinburgh Napier University, graduating with First Class Honours. Before Ikergune, I was a technical leader at CT Engineering Group in Madrid, working across infrastructure, distributed systems and full-stack development. I containerised applications with Docker, modelled traffic across distributed systems, and built web applications with React and Node.js. Earlier, at Scale AI, I worked on evaluating code-generation models across Python, Java and C++.
I currently work on a project with over 1.5 million lines of C++ code, used by organisations such as Volkswagen, Audi, and companies across China. Most of my work involves developer infrastructure, CI pipelines, and evolving our C++ codebase and CMake build system as project requirements change.
I grew up in Córdoba, spent six months studying in Lucerne, and worked in restaurants throughout university in Edinburgh. I speak Spanish and English fluently, and get by with some German.
I like difficult problems, simple solutions, exercise, food, and music.
